The journal Psihoterapija was founded in 1971 at the Center for Mental Health. It maintained continuous biannual publication until 1999. Three psychoanalytically oriented associations agreed to re-establish the journal with the same orientation and way of publishing.
The journal Psihoterapija is indexed in BASE, CORE, EBSCO (Academic Search Ultimate, Complementary Index, Biomedical Index, Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection), Google Scholar, HRČAK, J-Gate, Scopus, and Unpaywall.
