Abstract
The impact of comprehensive education in psychoanalytic group psychotherapy of the staff (psychatrists, psychologistst, nurses, work therapists etc) in a large psychiatric hospital is described. The education changed the interpersonal relationships in the hospital for the better, as well as enhanced empathy, understanding and the overall responsibility towards the patients. Group and as in important tool in psychoeducation of family members. The education in psychoanalytic group psychotherapy was a humanizing and transforming factor of a classic psychiatric hospital into an interactive, preventice therapeutic and rehabiliatative community of staff, patients and their family members.
